There are a lot of pricey products out there, but if budgets are tight, you don’t need to worry. For under £20, you can get your hands on some of the best beauty and wellness buys on offer that often actually outperform their pricier counterparts. Here’s the GLO edit of the budget buys we seriously rate.

1. The Cleanser

As a product you apply and then wash off straight afterwards, it makes sense that you can afford to save a few pennies on your cleanser. But with CeraVe’s Hydrating Cleanser, while you can skimp on the price, you certainly won’t be skimping on quality.

The whole CeraVe brand champions ceramides – basically, the building blocks of the skin that help to keep moisture in and irritants out.

The result? A cleanser that will leave your skin feeling properly refreshed but never stripped. It’s not hard to see why this line is a favourite with dermatologists and celebs alike.

2. The Moisturiser

Weleda Skin Food has been namechecked by everyone from Victoria Beckham to Hailey Bieber and Gwyneth Paltrow for making dull and lacklustre skin glow.

This all-natural moisturiser is a DREAM for dry complexions (it’s a go-to in the winter months for this reason) and while we love it under makeup, it’s also great as a hand cream or for soothing any patches of irritation. Basically, there’s not much this little green tube can’t accomplish.

The formula is pretty thick which some people really love, but there’s a lighter version too if that’s more up your street, as well as a matching body cream and lip balm. It’s a perennial staple in our skincare collection.

3. The Oil

If you’re looking to save money on your beauty routine, opting for a multipurpose product is a great place to start. We’re big fans of Fushi’s Jojoba Oil: it’s 100% organic, packed full of vitamin E (fab for dry skin) and can be used in a myriad ways. It’s great for rehydrating parched hair and limbs, can be mixed into your foundation for an extra dose of glow and can even be used as an oil cleanser. Honestly, what’s not to love?

4. The Vitamin Spray

While we have pretty extensive supplement collections, if there was just one we’d recommend everyone and anyone to take (especially over the winter months) it would probably be vitamin D – even the NHS recommends vitamin D supplementation between the months of October to March.

It’s SO important for maintaining a functioning immune system and for maintaining bone health, but unless you’re getting enough daily sunshine (which, let’s face it, you’re probably not in the depths of a UK winter), you’ll need to add it to your routine. BetterYou offer a handy vitamin D in spray form, which is super convenient for on-the-go and a good option if you can’t stomach the thought of pills.

5. The Sheet Mask

They’re convenient and work wonders – there’s little we don’t love about a sheet mask. They’re a mainstay of Korean skincare routines and for good reason: they flood the skin with hydration, leaving the complexion looking seriously radiant. Rola Skin’s Ultra Hydrating Glow Sheet Mask is rich in shea butter and ceramides – perfect for pre-party prep or after a bad night’s sleep. We love sheet masks for travel as they take up no space at all and we have even been known to wear one on the plane – yes, you might get a few funny looks, but the results make it all worth it!

6. The Exfoliating Pads

Dermatologist Dr Dennis Gross tends to some of the world’s most beautiful faces (Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Olivia Palermo are both clients) and while we all might not have the budget for an appointment with the great man himself, his award-winning skincare line means you can enjoy some of his magic from the comfort of your own bathroom.

His Alpha Beta Universal Daily Peel Pads are a cult classic and while they’re a bit on the pricey side for a full 30-day set, we suggest you opt for this 5-pack to see if you’re a fan before you invest (they’re actually £21, but we love them so much we’re breaking our own rules to include them here!) Offering a mix of powerful AHAs and BHAs, these handy pads will slough off dead skin and dial up the glow, reduce the size of pores and over time lessen the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Plus, they’re a cinch to use.

7. The Hair Hero

If you haven’t tried a Tangle Teezer yet, let this be your sign! Their uniquely designed bristles effortlessly glide through your hair, detangling knots and preventing breakage with remarkable ease.

They also stimulate the scalp, promoting circulation and overall hair health (hello thicker locks!). Their compact size also makes them perfect for on-the-go... you’ll always find one in our gym bags! We love that they are suitable for all hair types and leave your hair silky smooth!
